Scalable Solutions for Education and Workforce Innovation

Between 2022 and 2025, Education Media successfully launched and administered five statewide cohorts of the Entry-Level Production Accounting (ELPA) Program and one cohort of the Mid-Career Production Accounting (MCPA) Program. These initiatives were designed to provide industry-aligned, equity-driven workforce training to aspiring and transitioning professionals across California, with a focus on underrepresented communities.

Entry-Level Production Accounting

 

The California Film Commission – Pilot Career Pathways Program is excited to announce the next session of its Entry-Level Production Accounting Course this March. This course will equip students throughout CA with the skills and connections to obtain an entry-level position in TV & Film Production Accounting. The 7-week, distance learning opportunity starts on March 22nd and will be hosted on the Diversity Production Pro.® The course is supported by projects in the CA Film & TV Tax Credit Program and is FREE to all those accepted. Application closes March 2, 2025.

 

Begins Saturday, March 22nd, Time TBA – Via 1-hour Online Meeting

 

About: This 7-week course for CA residents will teach the fundamentals of what it takes to enter and excel in Production Accounting for Film & TV.

 

Cost:
The course is supported by projects in the CA Film & TV Tax Credit Program and is FREE to all those accepted.

Mid-Career Production Accounting

 

The California Film Commission – Pilot Career Pathways Program is excited to announce the inaugural session of its Mid-Career Production Accounting Course. This course will equip students throughout CA with the skills and connections to advance their careers in TV & Film Production Accounting. The 8-week distance learning opportunity starts on October 5th and will be hosted on the Diversity Production Pro® (DPP). The course is supported by projects in the CA Film & TV Tax Credit Program and is FREE to all those accepted.


Application opens September 6, 2024.

Deadline Extended: September 23, 2024 @10a.

Begins Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 10 am – Via Online Meeting

Pre-RequisiteCandidates for this course must meet one (or more) of the following criteria:

  • Have 1 year of experience working as a Production Accounting Clerk.

  • Have 1 year of experience working in a Production Finance office.

  • Have successfully completed the CFC Career Pathways Program’s Entry-Level Production Accounting Course.
